Please state your name, age, and any aliases you go by for the record.

Paul Roberts, 27. AKA Monsters Monsters

It says in this report that you do sketches, drawings, paintings, and stuffed-animals of monsters? Could you explain to us how you got into this line of work?

It all started out by making a birthday card for a friend, painting a monster onto a polaroid picture I had taken. That progressed onto making monsters out of balsa wood which lead onto the plush monsters. I tend to doodle most of the time.

Are you proud of what you do?

Yes I am very proud...I think it helps seeing what other people think of your work though.

Could you then tell the jury why it is that you feel the need to encourage monsters to stomp on our cities with these violent images?

I have always thought that my monsters personalities are big friendly hungry things and because of their sheer size they are very misunderstood...they don't mean to trash cities, they're just a bit clumsy where they step.

Are you content knowing that your works of art could send young monsters on a criminal path, endangering us all? What do you have to say for yourself!?!

Not at all...just don't live in a city which is likely to be trampled on by monsters! Other than that they should respect their elders and listen to what their parents have to say!

Who, exactly, supports what you do? Who helped you on the path of gargantua provocation?

I owe big thanks to Log Roper of the Outcrowd Collective who has helped in so many ways from letting me have stuff in his gallery to giving me contacts and just being a generally really really nice guy! My friend Kathryn "Cakey" Cartwright who has helped with all stuff to do with sewing and material (she makes clothes and knows what shes talking about). My parents also support me loads!

Do you have any followers? Are there any "fans" of this mutant encouraging propaganda?

I'm not actually too sure to be honest, Ii do have quite a few people saying nice things about my work through myspace and things like that so I guess there are people that like my work, I'm not sure I would say fans or followers though...that just seems a bit strange.

Can you tell us, explain to us your fascination with Micheal Jackson? Are you a "Mutant Supporter"?

Love mutants and love Jackson! What more can I say?

Which mutant, creature, gargantuan beast, or terror from the deep do you harbor the most affection for?

That is a hard one! Can I say teen wolf? There are just so many!

Were there any influences as a child that set you in this direction? Did you become an inciter of very large acts of violence because of something you read or saw on television?

Well, I did used to draw people getting killed in numerous ways when I was young, I'm not too sure where that came from, I wasn't really allowed to watch anything violent so maybe its just all in my head. Other than that, maybe Ii was influenced by 80s movies like The Never Ending Story, Flight of the Navigator, Return to Oz and Teen Wolf which I was brought up on.

Which of your terrorist works are you most proud of? Why do you support such a grisly depiction?

I'd say I'm most proud of my polaroid monsters, they are the pieces that people react to most and I guess because thats where it all started.

Is your family proud of what you do? What would your mother say if she could see you now!?!

Yep my family are proud, they support me in whatever I do...I couldn't really ask for a better family to be honest! I'm very lucky indeed.

What's your favorite color? (You evil terrorist)

I would love to be able to say black or blood red but I'm going to have to say a nice sky blue, or brown if its clothing. I love brown clothes.

What sort of effect did you hope your works of art and stuffed creatures would have on small children and the elderly?

I would like to think my work is seen as quite a fun thing, nothing too serious and heavy going even if some of it does have a bit of a dark side. I hope that it is not restricted to any age or gender.

Has anyone tried to stop you? (before the police caught on to your little operation that is)

Not that I know of unless they are doing it without me knowing...I have been hearing strange clicking noises on my phone though.

What is your favorite medium for spreading your hypnotically entrancing creatures?

Acrylic paint and material and fabric paint I rekon.

How long have you engaged in these criminal activities? How long do you plan on continuing your crusade against humanity?

I started the monsters 2 years ago this week actually and I hope to be doing it for many years to come yet. I couldn't put a finger on how long anything will last unfortunately.

Do you think monsters, mutants, demons, and slime-creatures should have the vote?

That may be a good idea...except for the demons (they're bad).

Do you think they should be given full marriage rights or just "inhuman unions"?

I love the idea of inhuman unions!

Which of the stuffed icons do you worship most often?

If you mean my stuff, I have recently made a foot long purple monster, he's my favourite at the moment. If you mean other peoples stuff I would have to say Friends with you, Heidi Kenny and Jenny Harada.

For the record: Do you love cats?

Indeed I do, I am definately more of a cat person than a dog person (not in a mutant kind of way). I have a cat called Ziggy, after the thing in Quantum Leap, he is black and white, old and deaf but still has a kitten like face. He is the best cat ever!!

Should you get the chair, who would you like to give your estate to? Would you be leaving behind any loved-ones?

I would be leaving my Mum, Dad, brother Stuart, girlfriend Hannah and all of my friends everything that I own, not that I have that much! Share share share, thats what I say.

Is there anything about you worth salvaging, something that can be brought out with therapy? What wholesome activities have you participated in? Have you ever given to charity?

I'm not sure what would come out in therapy, I couldn't pinpoint anything, there maybe something subconciously but I don't know. I spend a fair bit of money in charity shops so I guess that could be counted as giving to charity and as for wholesome activities, I don't really go out much.

What else would you like to say to the victims of your "art" before we pass judgment? (This is your chance to beg for mercy)

I hope you like my work! Don't kill me if you don't. Now pass judgement!
